Practitioners

Denise Berezonsky
Associate Director— I have been in continuous practice at the Breema Clinic since 1991. I first became a practitioner because I love giving and receiving Breema bodywork. Breema, Self-Breema, and the Nine Principles have had a transformative effect on me, and I wish to help clients discover how much this method can support them in all aspects of their life, including physical health and well-being and in their relationship to themselves and to others. I am particularly interested in working with clients interested in setting simple goals to move towards greater health, balance, and vitality, and teaching them to use the tools I have personally worked with and found effective.

I have studied and worked with a variety of body-based and other therapies for more than 17 years. I’ve been practicing Breema for more than ten years now, and I see Breema bodywork as a perfect vehicle for connecting with a part of ourselves that does not normally receive attention. Doing Breema, I am working together with you in a mutually supportive relationship, with movements that nurture your body, mind, and feelings. When the three centers are balanced and in harmony, we are in a much better position to live with meaning and purpose.

I fell in love with Breema in 1996 during a Self-Breema class. When I began studying Breema and working with the Nine Principles of Harmony, I saw what a positive influence it had on my work as an occupational therapist. After many years of teaching Breema and working as a Breema practitioner, I‘m grateful to see how Breema continues to support me in my life. I often work with parents, artists, athletes, musicians, executives, and actors. I welcome anyone who wishes to experience their body, mind, and feelings in harmony.

I have been doing Breema for the last 25 years. It has truly transformed my life, helping me maintain balance and harmony in my body, mind, and feelings. I know from the direct experience of giving many Breema treatments over the years that Breema can bring balance and harmony into anyone's life. Because of the truly non-judgmental atmosphere of Breema, I was able to fully relax for the first time. This has taught me that it’s my own thoughts that create tension in my body and stress in my life. The non-judgmental atmosphere shows me that at any moment during my day I can let go of tension whenever I use the 9 principles. I also teach Breema and continue to take classes at the Breema Center. In addition, I am a social worker for Kaiser Hospice. I would not be able to do this work without the support of Breema. It’s as beneficial for the practitioner as it is for the recipient.

I was a practitioner of movement therapy and other bodywork modalities. Through Breema I learned something completely new that has supported me for the past 12 years.
Instead of trying to figure out what is wrong with the body, I saw that the body, when it is seen in complete acceptance, can find its way to balance. The Breema touch is exactly that. The Breema Principles support me and my clients to come to the present through body-mind connection. This is the foundation through which we can experience harmony with ourselves an with all life.

For several years I have been teaching Brazilian dance and am intrigued and delighted to see how much the principles and experience of Breema support coordination and balance, style and rhythm, and ease and confidence in building more meaningful relationships. The whole creative process in any art form can be enhanced when we can connect to the body, be present, and express from a place of harmony and balance within ourself. That’s why I am passionate about helping others discover how Breema can help them in their creative endeavors and in recovering from injuries or illness so they can return to a more active lifestyle and enjoy a richer and fuller life. I especially enjoy working with dancers, yoga and movement enthusiasts, musicians, and artists.

A long time ago I heard heard it said in a Breema class, “Existence supports you.” That statement changed my view of the world and my place in it substantially. Over many years I have verified that statement through my own experience, especially by practicing Breema. Breema and the Nine Principles provide ongoing opportunities to bring ourselves to a more balanced state, which supports physical, mental, and emotional well-being. The simplicity of coming to the body while doing or receiving Breema supports us to become present and connected to a more essential aspect of ourselves. There is a deep sense of connectedness to all that exists and a wish to support that which supports me. I invite clients to receive Breema and to discover in what ways it can support them at any moment in their daily lives.

My career in book design and publishing first brought me in contact with Breema and I found it an invaluable support in a profession that requires intensive use of computers. I am grateful that Breema nurtures receptivity in me as the giver as well as in you, the recipient. As a Breema practitioner, I find that touching another's body without judgment benefits both of us. When you come in for a Breema session, wherever you are physically, mentally, or emotionally is accepted as our starting point as we move toward an experience of aliveness and being present. Breema works on many levels. As a Breema client, you may find that you immediately experience relaxation and an enhanced physical and mental energy. As you add Self-Breema exercises to your daily life and continue to receive Breema, you'll find that Breema opens a subtle and profound possibility for transformation that includes the body, the mind, and the feelings.

After studying Breema in Europe for several years, I came to the US to devote myself to studying and practicing. After almost 20 years of teaching and practicing Breema, I find myself as attracted to and grateful for the timeless quality of Breema as I was when I first encountered it. In a moment of being present, it is possible to see the physical body and its condition as an event of life, come to acceptance of it, and thus be in a much better position to deal with any issues. I have seen from my own experience how this change of attitude has significantly increased my quality of life, and sped up recovery from many physical problems. Because I also have many years of experience in computer support and as a system administrator, I have a lot of first-hand experience that I apply in supporting others who face health and wellness issues due to computer use. I am available for the 25-minute sessions that fit easily into your day yet catalyze a marked increase in your level of balance and vitality.

I’ve been working with clients at the Breema Clinic for over a decade, and am always deeply touched to see how much they are helped. Applying the Nine Principles of Harmony when I do Breema, Self-Breema, and in my daily life, I experience a sense of well-being that I wish for all my clients. I am especially interested in working with clients who are seeking support in dealing with stress, multi-tasking, aging, and computer-related issues.
